SUMMARY:Sustainability Matters Plant Rescue
DESCRIPTION:Making Trash Bloom rewilds landfills. Help rescue native plants from a native meadow slated to be scraped for a data center! We’ll give the plants and seeds a new home in native meadows across Virginia and West Virginia — or even in your own yard. \nSustainability Matters needs volunteers with vehicles\, shovels\, plant buckets of all sizes\, and a love of native plants to join them in Bristow\, Virginia\, to rescue plants and move them to Making Trash Bloom sites at the Berkeley County Landfill near Martinsburg\, West Virginia. They’ll preserve valuable species and ensure they’re able to continue to support pollinators and biodiversity. \nPlease come dressed for outdoor work and getting a little dirty—we recommend sturdy shoes\, comfortable clothing\, and sun protection. Don’t forget your water bottle!\nRegister\nAbout Blue Ridge PRISM\nBlue Ridge Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (PRISM) is Virginia’s first Cooperative Weed Management Area. \nFounded in 2014 as a volunteer-driven project of the Shenandoah National Park Trust\, PRISM became a stand-alone nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity in 2020.
